Stephen G. Kristofak, Jr.

Stephen G. Kristofak, Jr., 72, of Farmington, beloved husband of Susan K. Kristofak, died peacefully Saturday at Hartford Hospital, surrounded by his family. Born in Hartford, the son of Stephen G. and Norinne W. Kristofak, he graduated Farmington High School, class of 1957, Fairfield University, class of 1961 and Catholic University Columbus School of Law, class of 1964. Most of his career was spent providing legal services to the members and families of the Connecticut Laborers Union. Skip's most treasured moments were spent with family and many wonderful friends. He was a loyal brother and son. He frequented soccer games, baseball games, swim meets, concerts, plays and anything to do with his precious grandchildren. His love of music was a constant presence in his life and a gift he gave to his children. His beautiful tenor voice made many occasions festive and special. Skip was also a talented athlete with a great short game. Although his talents were many, his modesty, selflessness and sense of humor are what family and friends will remember most. His faith and Christianity were exemplary. Skip is survived by his wife, Sue, and his loving kids, Sharon K. McHale and her husband Pat, Stephen J. Kristofak, Sheila L. Kristofak and her husband Tommaso Baratta, and John M. Kristofak and his wife Ada Thompson Kristofak. Skip will be missed most by his beloved grandchildren Sarah, Patrick and Jack McHale, Charlie and Megan Kristofak, Giulia and Francesca Baratta and another expected in May. He also leaves behind his loving brother Rev. Terence J. Kristofak, C.P., his sister-in-law Mrs. Rosemary M. Kristofak, his loving daughter-in-law Molly B. Kristofak, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Skip was pre-deceased by his parents and his brother, Gerald J. Kristofak. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 9, at 9:30 am, from the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, 285 Church Street, Hartford, at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, November 8, from 4 to 8 pm at the Molloy Funeral Home.
