Rosemary Perry Budlong

BUDLONG, Rosemary Perry. Rosemary Perry Budlong, 64, died peacefully at her home in West Hartford on Saturday surrounded by her loving family. Born Rosemary Fay Perry on March 6, 1946, in Hartford, she was the eldest child of Philip Perry and Melanie Fay Perry. She lived most of her life in the greater Hartford area. Rosemary attended Wethersfield High School and the University of Connecticut. Until her recent retirement, she served for 17 years in various capacities in the Connecticut Judicial and Criminal Justice Departments, including as Executive Assistant to the current and most recent prior Chief State?s Attorney. Rosemary devoted her boundless energy, love and support to her dear family and friends. She was predeceased by sister Helen Kivlin. She is survived by lifelong friend and continuing partner in so much of life, especially in connection with their five children, eleven grandchildren and two nephews, C. Michael Budlong of North Granby, CT; daughter Stephanie Paul and son-in-law Christopher Paul of Darien, CT; daughter Hilary Allen and son-in-law David Allen of West Hartford, CT; son Jonathan Budlong and daughter-in-law Ingrid Budlong of Simsbury, CT; son Timothy Budlong and daughter-in-law Kelley Budlong of Simsbury, CT; son Andrew Budlong of West Hartford, CT; nephew Matthew Kivlin and wife Rhonda Kivlin of Westwood, MA; nephew Jeffrey Kivlin and his fiancé Dana Ufnal both of West Hartford, CT; eleven grandchildren, a grand nephew and grand niece - to whom she was and always will be their beloved and adored Nana - Charles, Thomas and James Paul; Amelia, Perry and Theodore Allen; Margaret, Gabrielle and J. Patrick Budlong; Emma and Noah Budlong; and, Spencer and Audrey Kivlin; brother Stephen Perry of Clearwater, FL; sister Jean Perry Phillips and brother-in-law Ralph Phillips of Mansfield, CT. With wide-open arms, Rosemary always welcomed family and friends alike into her heart and her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 5 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Timothy, 1116 North Main St, West Hartford. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, Old Wethersfield. Calling hours are Tuesday, May 4 from 4-8 p.m. at the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave, West Hartford, CT 06119 In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory can be made to the Rosemary P. Budlong fund at the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center, in care of Hartford Hospital, 80 Seymour Street, Hartford, CT 06102.
