Rosemarie Molé Mangan

MANGAN, Rosemarie (Molé) Rosemarie Mangan of Bloomfield, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, after several years of declining health. She was surrounded by her cherished family, including her beloved husband and best friend of 65 years, James C. Mangan. Rosemarie was born in New Rochelle, New York to Ignazio and Louise Molé. A graduate of Mount St. Ursula Academy and The College of New Rochelle, she worked briefly in New York City for an international advertising firm before marrying and moving to Long Island and then Bloomfield. Rosemarie was an elegant woman with an unerring sense of style, quiet quirky wit and keen intellect. She was a meticulous homemaker and decorative virtuoso, devoted to her family and involved in her children's activities as they grew up. Besides actively volunteering for Meals-On-Wheels, Rosemarie supported many charities; she particularly could not resist an animal organization that sent a cute calendar. At one time a polished bridge player, in middle-to-later years she developed a somewhat unlikely fandom for certain sports, namely women's basketball and major league baseball. The UConn Huskies were "the girls" and, of course, the Yankees were her team. Besides James, Rosemarie is survived by their children Marianne Mangan (husband Robert Levin), James Jr, and Diane Venora; grandchildren Danny, Matthew, Alyssa and Ryan Venora and Elizabeth Mangan; her sister Mary Louise Walsh; and a host of caring nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Lynn Harris who made the last few years easier. We are all remembering Rosemarie together now. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, October 29 from 4-6 PM at Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Avenue in West Hartford. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 30th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 26 Wintonbury Avenue, Bloomfield, with interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 30 Mountain Avenue, Bloomfield.
