Patricia M. Farmer

Patricia M. Farmer, 97, of Hartford, died peacefully of natural causes on Thursday, July 18, 2024. She was born in Elmhurst, NY on June 16, 1927, the daughter of Walter D. Mahoney and Ruth Farrell Mahoney, both deceased. Pat married Harold J. “Buck” Farmer, deceased, in 1955, and they raised their family in Bayside, NY until 1958, East Northport, NY until 1972, and Catskill, NY until 1982. Pat lived in Solvay, NY until 2001, and in Hartford since then. Pat is survived by her children, Kevin Farmer (Cheryl Cundall) of West Hartford, CT, Paul Farmer (Robin) of Ballston Lake, NY, Ellen Williamson (John) of Natick, MA, and Patti Palmer (Brian Smelt) of Rochester, NY; grandchildren, Robby Williamson (Shane McCarthy), Amanda Palmer Huling (Ian), Natalie Palmer (Ryan McAnany), Shamar Farmer (fiancée Kristen and son Nehemiah), Michael Williamson (Macy Corica), Kerri Palmer, Patty Williamson (Kevin Bielawski), and Nora Farmer; great grandchildren Max, Lilly, and Connor Huling; nieces Karen Stefanski (Tom) and Gail Kittelsen, and nephew Doug Kittelsen (Cynthia); brother-in-law, Guy Kittelsen; and Cheryl’s mother Marlene Cundall. Pat was predeceased by her brother, James B. Mahoney. Pat worked as a client associate for stock brokerage houses in Syracuse until her retirement in 2000. Pat enjoyed reading and cooking. She loved spending time with family in special places, including Cape Cod, Ireland, St. John, USVI, and Tanglewood Lake in the Catskills. She was active with her children and grandchildren, acknowledging and celebrating birthdays, weddings, milestones, and holidays. Pat was well known for finishing Christmas shopping by Halloween, if not Labor Day. She enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends through Facebook and texting. Pat’s family offers deep gratitude to her caregiver Simone, and her cleaner/hairdresser Gretchen. The staffs at Saint Mary Home and St. Francis Hospital were caring, helpful, and professional. We are grateful for the compassionate, responsive, and personalized medical care provided by Lisa Knoll, APRN. Her family invites friends to celebrate Pat on Monday, August 5, 2024, with calling hours from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, CT and a funeral mass at 11:00 am at the Church of St. Timothy, 1116 North Main St, West Hartford.
