Mari M. Ferlini

Mari Micu Ferlini, 88, of West Hartford, wife of the late Alvaro Ferlini, died Sunday, May 16, 2010, at St. Mary Home in West Hartford. Born in Garrett, Indiana the daughter of the late Ilarion and Maria Micu, she made her home in West Hartford since 1946. She graduated from Indiana University in 1942, and was a home economics teacher in the Hartford School system until her retirement in 1977. A woman of strong faith she was a founding member of the Church of St. Timothy in West Hartford. Mari stayed very active throughout her life. She was a longtime member and former president of the Suburban Women's Club, as well as former president and member of the West Hartford Women's Club. Mari is survived by her three children; Stephanie Moore and her husband Robert of Ellington, Mary-Jo Hunninghake and her husband Ronald of Wichita, KS, and Vincent Ferlini and his wife Carol of Westmoreland, NH; five grandchildren; Christopher Moore and his wife Sarah of Washington D.C., Sara Hunninghake of Brooklyn, NY, Anne Zauderer and her husband Kirk of Atlanta, GA, John Hunninghake and his wife Talia of Kansas City, KS, and Daniel Hunninghake of Wichita, KS; one great granddaughter, Evangeline Zauderer; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her son John Ferlini, a brother John Micu, and two sisters Anna Brosh and Helene Roman. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary Home and the McAuley for their compassion and care. The funeral will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave., West Hartford, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in The Church of St. Timothy, 1116 N. Main St., West Hartford. Burial will be Friday at 11:00 am in Fairview Cemetery, 200 Whitman Ave. West Hartford. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
