Lynda Palmer Dyson

Lynda Palmer Dyson, born on March 18, 1941, passed away on April 30, 2026 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Even while facing this cruel disease, Lynda remained devoted to what mattered most to her—her family. She was a loving mother to her four children, a proud grandmother to twelve, and a cherished great-grandmother to five. Family was the center of Lynda’s world. Lynda especially treasured her summers at Grove Beach Point in Westbrook, Connecticut, where she created countless memories with her loved ones. She adored hosting her grandchildren for sleepovers, cooking them breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and filling their days with warmth and care. She found great joy in tending to her gardens and spending the winter months on the golf course in Phoenix, Arizona. A true passion of hers was interior design and decorating, and she loved to sew, often fixing and mending clothes for her grandchildren. She cherished hosting holidays and would travel home from Arizona to be surrounded by her family during those special times. Raised in Bloomfield, Connecticut, Lynda was the daughter of Franklin “Buff” and Mary Palmer. She shared a beautiful life with her husband, Donald R. Dyson, to whom she was married for 32 years before his passing 34 years ago. The two met one summer at Grove Beach Point, where their lifelong love story began—one deeply rooted in family and the sea. Together, they were devoted members of the Duck Island Yacht Club and spent many summers sailing to destinations throughout New England. Lynda is the last surviving member of her generation in the Dyson family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family will forever think of her when the sun shines over the water at Grove Beach Point, where her love and presence will always be felt. Lynda’s memory will be forever cherished by her children: Scott Dyson; Steven (Kris) Dyson; Susan (Gary) Bazzano; and Shaun (Yvette) Dyson. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Megan, Patrick, and Timmy Scully; MaryKate, Colin, Katherine, Peter, and Michaela Dyson; Kelly Faust; and Danielle, Marissa, and Michael Bazzano; as well as her five great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Karen Palmer Fox, along with many nieces and a nephew. The family is truly grateful for the kindness and exceptional care provided by the LiveWell staff. Her family will receive friends on Monday from 10-11:30 a.m., at Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford. A celebration of life ceremony will follow in the funeral home beginning at 12:00. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford.
