Joanne Elise Day

Joanne Elise Day was born on April 30, 1948 in Weehawken, NJ and passed away peacefully in her Farmington home on February 11, 2021. Always a “Jersey Girl” at heart, Joanne was a true beach lover and often reminisced about family vacations at the shore (Long Beach Island, NJ) or her youthful days spent at Harvey Cedars and the notorious Jersey Boardwalks. Joanne spent much of her life working in the corporate world as a paralegal, for companies such as Emhart, Stanley Works, and United Technologies Corporation, as well as balancing the demands of being a full-time mother. She was loved by many friends and family alike and always one to display kindness, appreciation and fierce advocacy for those in need. Her silly streak and love for fun was present up until her final days and she will be missed dearly. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 39 years, Allen W. Day (Farmington, CT) as well as all of her children: Mike Kravanja (North Carolina), Christopher Day (Massachusetts) and Lindsay E. Day (West Hartford, CT); her grandchildren: Michael Kravanja, CoraLea Kravanja and Sophia Day; her sister Ann Bonner Carpenter (Massachusetts) and niece Katherine Carpenter (Massachusetts). Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, all funeral services will be private at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, Joanne would have loved a donation in her name to be made to any of the following organizations: Connecticut Humane Society; First Church West Hartford or Lupus Foundation of America.
