Eileen McGann Allard

Eileen (McGann) Allard, 68, of Bloomfield, passed away on Friday February 12, 2021. Born in Hartford, on October 28, 1952, daughter of the late Thomas & Anne McGann, she graduated from Hartford Public High School. She was the owner, operator of The Wintonbury Day Care Center, where she extended her compassion, guidance and love for children. At the same time, she continued to work for DCF, (over 25 years) as a Foster Parent caring for well over 700 young people. Like day care she continued her relationship with many of those young people, guiding and caring for them even as they grew and often became parents themselves. They called her Mom and Gramma which lit up her heart. She was always first in line to lend support to family and friends, no matter the situation! If there is anyone who deserves the title of Angel and gift to the world it is Eileen. She is survived by her son, Patrick (Haley Chapman) of Bloomfield, her sisters Kathleen McGann of West Hartford and Joan McGann of Bloomfield, her three step-children, Kimberly Allard, Michele Rawson and Wayne Allard Jr.; two sisters- in- law, Joann Allard of Newington, and Janet Cook of St. Petersburg, Fl. She is also survived by her other children, Shamika, William and Shawn. Eileen also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many cousins and their families. In addition, so many friends, but especially, Chris, Midge and Lea who have always been there for her. She was predeceased by her husband, Wayne Allard Sr.; her brother Tommy McGann and granddaughter Alisa Allard. Calling hours will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Ave, Bloomfield CT on Friday, February 19, 2021 4:00-6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 20, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church (the service will be streamed on facebook live https://www.facebook.com/SHCBloomfieldCT/ and youtube live https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3TVoZfemO0t0_VQ1Q84PLA . Internment at Rose Hill Memorial Park will be private. In keeping with CDC guidelines, it is required that masks be worn at all times and 6 ft social distancing be maintained. A Celebration of Eileen's Life, and a reception will be held at a later date. Molloy Funeral Home, West Hartford, will be handling arrangements.
