Valentin Salcedo

July 29, 2016

In Loving memory of our Father Valentin Salcedo 2/14/1925 7/29/2016 Valentin was born in a town called Iscos, in Huancayo, Peru. He was a smart, active and perseverant person. His hobbies were music, specifically the clarinet, and sports, he loved soccer. He immigrated to Lima at the young age of fourteen looking for better living conditions. During his young adulthood he met Perpertua Bautista Vazques, and they fell in love and formed a family. They had fifteen children, five died during infancy, and today the ten living children cry for their absence. Throughout his life he was a great merchant. He worked in the number one interstate market trade of wholesale vegetables, “Mercado Mayorista de Lima”. Valentin and his wife worked tirelessly and endlessly to provide higher education for all ten of his children. In 1993 Valentin and Perpetua came to the United States. Despite being sixty-eight he continued to work for ten more years. Eventually he became a United States citizen, which further completed his dream of having his family together in the USA. Even though he retired at the age of 83, he continued to work as a landscaper until his final days. Papa Valentin will forever live in our hearts.
