Lucille V. Edstrom of Avon, formerly of West Hartford, passed away September 12, 2017 at the age of 105. Born September 27, 1911 in Winsted, the daughter of Gaetano and Antoinette Perez, she was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, and a son Oliver and grandson Louis J. Bouchard. Lucy is survived by her daughter Margaret Bouchard and her husband Gregory, 3 grandchildren, Gretchen Edstrom, and Michael and Collette Bouchard as well as 6 great grandchildren, Ashleigh, Mark, Louis, and Christopher Bouchard, and Emmy and Clara Franklin. As well as many nieces and nephews. She was a very talented lady, concert pianist, seamstress, potter, and loved to dance, she even started tap dancing lessons at 80! Lucy never stopped living her life to the fullest, she traveled to Hawaii at 96, and Italy at 99 (despite a fear of flying). Lucy retired from the State of CT at the Department of Income Maintenance (DSS) after 21 years. After retirement from the state, she became more active in the West Hartford Women’s club, she volunteered at the West Hartford Senior Center and was active in the St. Thomas the Apostle Women’s Club. Her smile could brighten any room she was in. The staff at the nursing home always stated that if they were not having a good day, all they had to do was to go see her. The Funeral will be Monday, October 2, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 872 Farmington Ave. West Hartford.
