Jane Murray Kennedy passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2018 in West Hartford. Jane was born in Athlone, Co. West Meath Ireland, on March 25th 1917. Jane was one of ten children and the last of the Murray siblings. At age 19 Jane immigrated from Ireland to London where she worked as a nurse during World War II. While in London she met her husband, Patrick Kennedy and had two children, Brendan and Theresa. In 1952 while pregnant with her third child, Kathleen, she immigrated to America. Jane and Patrick settled in the Parkville section of Hartford and enjoyed many happy family gatherings and wonderful memories. She had two more children, Thomas (deceased) and a daughter Jean. Jane was known for her kindness, sparkling Irish eyes and her beautiful smile. She loved everyone she met especially the children. Jane was able to celebrate her 100th birthday with her family that will leave them all with wonderful memories of a special celebration especially the Irish step dancing by family members. Jane was predeceased by her husband Patrick and son Thomas. She is survived by her children, Brendan Kennedy, Theresa & Jerry Collins (her favorite and only son-in-law), Kathy Kennedy, Jean Kennedy. Also her grandchildren, Sean, Kevin, Shannon, Ryan, Daryl, Erin, Meaghan, and many great grandchildren and two great great children. We would like to thank her special caregivers Rose, Pauline, and Cheryl who always treated her with kindness and respect. Services were private and donations in Jane's name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
