Florence S. Balogun Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Florence Balogun, 53, of West Hartford, passed away on May 28, 2017. Born on December 15, 1963 in Lagos, Nigeria, she attended high school in Switzerland and received her B.S. in Pharmacy from St. John’s University in New York. She worked at CVS Pharmacy in West Hartford, CT as a licensed pharmacist since 2001 and as a pharmacy manager until her passing. She is predeceased by her parents, Chief Matthew Balogun and Madame Josephine Balogun, and sister Elizabeth Fumilayo Balogun. She is survived by her brothers, Chief Michael T. Balogun, Marcus Balogun, III, M.D., James Balogun, and Anthony Balogun. She is also survived by her two loving children, Channell and Edgar Hannibal. She leaves many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Florence was an avid reader and had a love of traveling which took her to countries across Europe, Asia, and Africa. She was a beloved member of the community and was known for her compelling work ethic, attention to detail, and highly organized method of working. She inherited her love of teaching from her mother and demonstrated this by being selected as one of the most favored pharmacy preceptors to pharmacy students. Florence had an infectious smile and was appreciated by her friends as a good listener with an unwavering dedication to them. Florence was raised in a Christian home and continued her dedication to God through her active participation in the Church. She will be missed dearly by her loving children, family, and friends.
