Elizabeth A. Noonan 95, of Manchester, beloved wife for 54 years to the late George J. Noonan, passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at Manchester Manor Nursing Home. Born in Hartford, on July 16, 1922, the daughter of the late Frederick H. and Delia (Murphy) Habermann. She is also predeceased by her sister Helen (Habermann) Hess of Elmwood. She lived in the Hartford area all her life. After attending Hartford Public High School she worked for the Bell Telephone Company as a switch board operator through the WWII years. She met and married her husband George on January 2, 1943, at Camp Edwards, Mass. After the war and the birth of their son she continued her carrier as a switch board operator for Grody Chevrolet and later took positions at Stop and Shop, then moved onto American Insurance Company and Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company. After she retired from Fireman’s Fund, she worked at King Philip Middle School in the food services dept. In her spare time (and her husband at the wheel) she loved to go for rides in the country, picnic at People’s Forest and Compensating Reservoirs. She also loved her yearly vacations at the Cape Cod and Knollwood Beach in Old Saybrook, and her shopping trips to Talbots. In her high school year book they quoted her as being poised, and wears clothes like a professional model, and shopped like one too. This continued throughout her entire life. She leaves her son George F. Noonan and wife Marion (Wallace) of Hebron, and their 3 children, Timothy Noonan and wife Michelle (Gurney) of Ellington and their children Zachary, Haileigh & Amelia, Matthew Noonan and wife Katina (Fernandez) of Manchester, and Colleen (Noonan) Hooker and husband SFC John P. Hooker V and their daughter Brienne of Williston, VT. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held this Friday, August 18th from 6-8 pm at Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 19th, 10am at The Church of St Timothy, 1116 North Main St., West Hartford, followed by burial at Fairview Cemetery, 200 Whitman Avenue, West Hartford, CT.
