Clara Deena (Neptin) Brown, 50, of Glastonbury passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born in Hartford, Nov. 3, 1966, the youngest daughter of Philip M. Neptin and Janet D. Dowling. Clara was predeceased by her beloved brother William A. Neptin. She is survived by a large and loving family, brother, Philip J. Neptin, (Annmarie), sisters, Marianne T. Neptin, Deborah R. Grahn (Mark), Louise N. Buccheri (Santo), Catherine J. Neptin, and sister-in-law Rosemary Neptin. She is also survived by her nieces, Brianne and Andreanna and nephews, Joshua, Joseph, Johnny, Sebby, Nicholas, Matthew and Christopher and her “Squishy grandniece Kennedy Jaye. Clara also leaves many close cousins in CT., ME., CA. and her Aunt Jean of Portland, CT. Clara grew up in West Hartford, graduated from Northwest Catholic High School and had a career in the insurance industry as a Pension Analyst. She spent many years living on the west coast in Denver, Seattle, and Los Angeles. Clara always enjoyed life to the fullest with her travels, a good card game, her love of all animals, especially dogs and spending time with family and friends. Her family would like to thank the staff at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center (6-2), St. Mary Home (Fitzgerald 1st floor), Masonicare, and Smilow Cancer Center (Dr. Vredenburgh and Joy) for the wonderful care they gave Clara. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, March 11, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 872 Farmington Ave. Burial will be at the discretion of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation, Inc., 103 Vision Way, Bloomfield, CT 06002.
