It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Catherine Ann Jeresaty, beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on November 30, 2017. Born on September 28, 1939 in Hartford CT, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Namnoum. Catherine attended Bulkeley High School and went on to earn her associate degree as a medical secretary from The Hartford Secretarial School. Catherine was a passionate volunteer. She served on the Board of Directors of The Women's Auxiliary of St. Francis Hospital. She was the co-chair of the Miracles Gala in 2001. She also enjoyed volunteering with her close friends at the St. Francis Gift Shop. Catherine enjoyed traveling with her husband and children. She traveled extensively through the US, Europe and the Middle East. She was proud of her Lebanese heritage. Catherine was well known to be an outstanding cook who loved to prepare Lebanese and French dishes. She was described by a friend as an "artist in the kitchen." Catherine was the embodiment of love, selflessness and generosity. She was kind, vibrant and full of life. Devotion to her family defined her. She will be deeply missed by her devoted, loving husband of 58 years, Dr. Robert M. Jeresaty. She also leaves behind her 5 children who adored her: Denise Farrah and her husband David of West Hartford, CT, Michael Jeresaty and his wife Elizabeth of Charleston, SC, Joseph Jeresaty and his life partner Clodagh Parker of Northampton, MA, Nadine Soucier of Avon, CT and Joanne Callahan and her husband Thomas of West Hartford, CT. She will also be dearly missed by her 8 grandchildren who were the light of her life: Spencer and Alexander Farrah, Luke and Blake Jeresaty, Grace and Will Soucier, and Emma and Michael Callahan. She leaves behind her loving sister and brother: Jane Thomas (late husband Norman Thomas) of Springfield, MA and Joseph P. Namnoum (late wife Amelia Namnoum) of Palm City, FL, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews as well as her loving in-laws in Lebanon, US and Colombia: Joseph, Souad, Marcelle, Nadia, Renee, Maurice, Nabil and their families. Catherine was predeceased by her brothers, Peter and Kenneth Namnoum and her brother-in-law Mounir Jreissati. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 11 at 10:00 am at the Church of St. Timothy 1116 North Main Street, West Hartford, CT. Burial will follow at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The Family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, December 10 from 3-7 pm at the Church of St. Timothy.
