Allan Liljehult (1927-2018), died January 14, 2018 after a brief illness. Allan was born in Portsmouth, NH, graduated from Portsmouth High School and ultimately became a Court Reporter in the United States Coast Guard. He was stationed in New York City, Washington, DC, London, and in France. After discharge he worked in Boston before marrying his wife, Betty. They settled in West Hartford when Allan went to work for the Superior Court of Hartford/New Britain. Allan was the Official Reporter until his retirement, when he and Betty opened a statewide court reporting firm, Allan Reporting, which they ran for many years. He is survived by his daughter, Diane Tucker, her husband John and their daughter Julia of Farmington, sisters Lilian, Dorothy, Berdie and brother Jack, as well as several very beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his dear wife, Betty, and his nephew Dennis Allan McCann. Allan was a dignified and erudite man who enjoyed classical music, opera, theatre, and was very well read. His greatest pleasures were his family and his many trips to Barbados which he relished for over fifty years. Services are private at the convenience of his family.
