Patricia Elizabeth O'Connor

Patricia Elizabeth O'Connor (Henry) born November 15, 1925 passed away suddenly at St. Francis Hospital on February 24, 2015. How can we possibly describe our Mother, our Grama, our GeeGee? She was kind and wonderful and thoughtful and full of life right til the end. She ALWAYS got the joke. She was a lady in the true sense of the word, but she could also be the life of the party. Although never a "joiner" she was still involved. She was all about family and taking care of others to the very best of her abilities. She was multi-talented, witty, and eloquent, and could make anyone of her creative ideas come to fruition with her ingenuity and perseverance. She has been described as spunky, mischievous, and many wondered what she could possibly have been like in her "younger" days. Our parent’s love story began with just a single rose and spanned nearly 60 wonderful years together. We are so very sad to let her go, but know that she is now with those she loved that have gone before her. They include her husband Caleb, her parents Eleanor and Alexander, her brother Wales and his wife Bernadette, and her grandparents, "Bessie and Patsy". She is also survived by her daughters and their husbands: Karen Smith O'Connor and Herman Gurahoo and Kathleen O'Connor Gallicchio and Clifford. And by her 6 grandchildren, Michael Patrick Smith and wife Annie, Jeffrey Caleb Smith and wife Hillary, Brian Clifford Gallicchio, Stacy Ann Murphy and husband Nathan, Matthew Stephen Gallicchio and Matthew Scott Smith and by 7 great grandchildren and a special Godson, Brian Luke Seaward. She is also survived by a dear cousin, Eileen Hogan and her family. She also leaves behind to remember her, many friends, some of whom she thought of as family, and her Berry Patch neighbors, who were such an important part of her last years. Although she called many places home, among them Glastonbury, West Hartford and most recently, South Windsor, her heart remained at "823". Born in Baltimore, she grew up in Hartford and graduated from Hartford High class of 1943. She attended Hartford Secretarial School and was employed at G Fox Co. as a buyer and was retired from the Travelers Insurance Co. At Patricia's request, there were no calling hours.
