Patricia F. McClure

Patricia F. McClure, age 95, died on April 4, 2023. Born in Boston Ma. to James and Mildred Flynn, Pat attended Boston Girls Latin School and graduated from Manhattanville College of the Sacred Heart in New York City. Pat was predeceased by her beloved husband J. Raymond McClure, and two sons, James (J.C.) and David. She was also predeceased by her brother James Flynn. Pat was survived by seven children: John R. Jr. of West Hartford; Ellen (Bill Scaggs) of Somers; Shelagh (Tom Fiorentino) of West Hartford; Julie Binhack (Pete) of Indianapolis; Peter (Linda) of West Hartford; Timothy (Jeanne) of Nantucket; and Betsy Quist (Carl) of Woodbridge; ten grandchildren: Matthew McClure (Vanessa) of Indianapolis; Lauren McClure Brady (Peter) of Chicago; Daniel Fiorentino of Bloomfield; John Binhack (Christina) of Alexandria, Va.; Katie Binhack (Michael Garcia) of Chicago; Emily Binhack of Indianapolis; Hayley McClure of New York City; Brendan McClure of West Hartford; Raymond McClure of Nantucket and Jack Nolan of Woodbridge ; and two great-grandchildren: Evelyn McClure of Indianapolis and James Brady of Chicago. Family was the center of Pat’s life. When the kids were young, she and Ray encouraged them to work hard, and all nine of her children graduated from college, which made her very proud. She loved to read, go to the theater and play bridge, and after her beloved Ray died way too young, she found great friendships with women who shared her interests. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Even after dementia began to take its toll, Pat always had a smile when her grandchildren visited or called, and more recently, when she saw pictures of her new great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the many caregivers at Atria Hamilton Heights and Anthology of Simsbury who took good care of our mother and help her live her final years in comfort and with dignity. Calling hours will be Monday, (4/10) from 4-7 pm at the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave., West Hartford. A Mass of Christian will be celebrated on Tuesday, (4/11) at 10 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 872 Farmington Ave., West Hartford. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford.
