Ozzie Manoogian

Arthur H. Manoogian Ozzie, 85, of West Hartford died Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at home. He was born on December 30, 1921, the son of the late Harry and Natalie Manoogian in Hartford and moved to West Hartford in 1936. He graduated from Hall High School, worked for the Water Bureau of the City of Hartford, and then as plumber and steamfitter for many years. He was a proud member of the West Hartford Regents, 37th degree Shriner, Masonic Lodge #4. Ozzie was also a charter member of the West Hartford YMCA Indian Guides, commissioner of Boy Scouts of St Timothy's Church, member of AARP, Red Cross volunteer, and a tireless volunteer for West Hartford Senior Center activities. In 2001 Ozzie and his wife Angie received the Best Volunteer award for the West Hartford Senior Center, having taught ceramics there for years and having taken those ceramics to many local assisted living homes, bringing much happiness to those residents. He loved doing crafts, gardening, traveling, and stamp collecting. Ozzie was a devoted Christian and a member of the St Stephen's Armenian Apostolic Church in New Britain. He leaves his beloved wife Angeline Cantone Manoogian of 62 years, and his beloved children: daughter Sandra and her husband Tom Pearce of Fargo, North Dakota, and grandchildren David and Elizabeth; and son Arthur Jr. and his wife Jean of San Clemente, CA and grandchild Brian. He leaves his sister Elizabeth Manoogian of West Hartford. He was preceded in death by his brother Charles and sister-in-law Betty Manoogian, by his niece Suzanne Lehnertz of Kansas City, by his nephew David Manoogian of Washington DC, and by his beloved Uncle David Hagopian of West Hartford. He leaves niece Phyllis Manoogian of California and nephew Vincent Manoogian and wife Karyn of St Louis. He was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law Joseph and Frank Cantone. He leaves sister-in-law Ann and husband Ed Glofka of Windsor and sister-in-law Josephine and husband Ray Johnson of Maine, also Jean Cantone of Salem, CT and Helen Cantone of Wethersfield and many friends and relatives. Funeral services will be at Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave., West Hartford at 11 am Saturday. Friends may pay their respects an hour earlier at the funeral home at 10. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 200 Whitman Ave, West Hartford. Memorial donations may be made to St .
