MaryAnne Elsner

MaryAnne Monroe Elsner, 69, of Rocky Hill, CT passed away peacefully on October 30, 2015 surrounded by her friends and family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Capt. James Elsner, Jr. MaryAnne was a loving Daughter-in-Law, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Aunt. She was born in Waterbury, CT and a 1964 graduate of Hartford Public High School where she played the saxophone. She retired from Hartford Financial Services. MaryAnne sang with the Sweet Adeline’s in Arkansas, Montana, and Spain while stationed with her husband. She also sang with Sounds of New England (SONE). In 1993 MaryAnne made her acting debut as Sister Mary Mary Anne in the Wallace Theater Production of Nunsense. She later volunteered at Hartford Stage and the Bushnell. MaryAnne was a Notary Public for many years and past president of her condominium association. She was an amazing seamstress, craftswoman and floral designer often doing projects for friends. An avid card player and bowler, she competed in leagues throughout the area for many years. Along with her 3 beloved felines, she leaves behind her loving parents-in-law, James and Dorothy Elsner, Sr of West Hartford, her son William Ingram III and 2 beautiful grandchildren, Liam and Carlie Ingram of Payson, AZ, her brother Thomas “TJ” Malone of Cinncinati, Ohio, her sister Margaret Monroe of Bridgeport, CT, her beloved sister-in-Law and her husband Mary and Michael Moss, a nephew Christopher Monroe, her lifelong friend Trudi Finn and her 3 children, her dear friends Gracelyn Kingsbury & Joan Baloga, and her special friends and “caretakers” Nanc Buonopane, Donna Pizzo, and Diane Boxer, as well as scores of other loving, supportive friends that she cherished. MaryAnne wanted to thank Dr Aaron Shafer and his entire office staff, Mickie Curran, the Hope and Hospice teams of Hartford Heathcare at Home, and the staff at the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center at Hartford Hospital who provided the best possible care, comfort, and love. Funeral service will be held on Monday Nov 2nd at 4pm at Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave. West Hartford. Burial will be private.
