Marjorie Eagan Tracey

Marjorie Eagan Tracey, 85, of West Hartford, Old Lyme, and Boynton Beach, FL, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, entered into her eternal rest on August 21, 2022. Born January 25, 1937, in Windsor, she was raised in West Hartford, and Lenox, MA. She graduated from Mount St. Joseph’s Academy, West Hartford, in 1955, and Marymount College, Tarrytown, NY in 1959. She earned her Masters of Education from the University of Hartford in 1963. Margie was employed as a teacher in Bristol, and Hartford, until 1967. In 1979, she co-founded Canterbury Estate Sales with her sister-in-law, Joan M. Eagan, and for 25 years they operated this successful company. She wed John F. Tracey, Jr. in 1967, and raised their 5 children in West Hartford. Margie is survived by her children Kevin J. and Patricia Tracey of Old Greenwich; Timothy C. and Patricia Tracey of Milford, NH; Sharon and James Barrett of Asheville, NC; Gary Owen and Susan Tracey of East Granby; Sean Francis and Amanda Tracey of Smithville, Ontario, Canada; her 12 grandchildren, Kathleen Tracey, Colleen and Patrick Bemis, Tracey and Frances Barrett, Maureen and Patrick Connolly, Mary Bridget, Katherine and Margaret Tracey, Madeline and James Tracey, Jack and Alli Tracey; her 5 great grandchildren, Charles, Elisabeth and Ann Fearon, and Rebecca and Elliott Bemis; her sister Mary Eagan; and her beloved Eagan, Fitzgerald, Tracey, Sheehan and Davin nieces and nephews. Margie was predeceased by her parents Francis J. “Bud” and Mazie Myers Eagan, her infant children, Joseph and Mary; her beloved husband, Jack; her brother Hon. F. Owen Eagan and her sister-in-law Joan Eagan. Margie’s infinite love for family and friends is now and forever a gift to us as a lifetime of memories. Her funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Church of St. Timothy, 1116 N. Main St. West Hartford, on Friday August 26, 2022, 2 pm.
