Manolita Romasanta

Manolita (Nolly) Romasanta returned home to God on December 9, 2020 to be with her husband, Benjamin Romasanta. Nolly was born on January 1, 1936 in Manila, Philippines to the late Pedro and the late Rufina Maristela and was one of seven children - Rizalina, Paralumen, Ramon, the late Luzvimindo, the late Anthony, and the late Liwayway. She earned her Bachelor's Degree at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. Her calling in life was her family. She followed Ben to the United States in 1970 where she nurtured a loving family. She never missed the opportunity to brag about her kids. Her home was very welcoming to family, friends, and the Filipino community of Hartford. The New Year's Eve parties at her home were the highlight of the holiday season with her delicious Filipino dishes. Being a devout Catholic, she served the Lord as a Eucharistic Minister at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Hartford. She also served the Filipino community as the first woman president of the Filipino-American Association which kept the Filipino traditions alive in the Hartford area. She is survived by her son Vallente, whose wife Grace is also back home in Heaven, her daughter Gisela Ortolaza and husband Angel, her son Vernel and his wife Lisa, and her daughter Galetrix Dressler and her husband James. But what really brought her joy in life was taking care of her grandchildren. She fawned over Sarah, Delilah, Jasmine, Bella, Victoria, Ben-James, Lorelei, Benjamin, Liliana, and Lara. They were all spoiled by Lola. They will all sorely miss her. Mahal ka namin, Lola! Walk through calling hours will be held on Sunday, (Dec. 13th) from 2-4 p.m. at the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave., West Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday (Dec.14th) at 10:00 a.m. in the Cathedral of St. Joseph, 140 Farmington Ave., Hartford. Due to Covid-19 space in the church is limited. Masks and social distancing are required. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
