Lynn Torsiello

Linda Ann (Lynn) Torsiello, 57, of Windsor, Connecticut (and formerly of Newington, Connecticut), went peacefully home to the Lord on Sunday, January 29, 2017 after a long, courageous, and inspiring battle with breast cancer. Lynn is survived by her parents, Anthony and Irene Torsiello of Newington, CT and was predeceased by her birth-mother Ann Marie Torsiello. Lynn is also survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law Anthony and Pam of West Hartford, CT and Kevin and Kim of Virginia Beach, VA. Lynn was the beloved auntie of Michael, Marissa, Brian, Jay and Rachel. She was a graduate of Newington High School, Annhurst College, Anna Maria College, and the University of Hartford. Lynn was a dedicated employee of Scapa North America based in Windsor, Connecticut for the last seventeen years. Her coworkers there quickly became more than coworkers, they became close friends and family. Lynn’s family is forever indebted to Scapa’s employees for their endless love and support of Lynn during her illness, and their willingness to always offer their services in any way to make Lynn more comfortable. They provided so much joy in Lynn’s life, and their love was unequivocal. Lynn lived her life with great passion, and with the tremendous support of her colleagues at Scapa, as well as her friends and family, Lynn led ongoing, successful fundraisers for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC) through her “Lynn’s Hope” team. Her team was among the top fundraisers in the country for the organization this past year. MSABC’s support meant so much to Lynn, and gave her so much purpose to continue to selflessly give back and help others who courageously battled alongside her. The family would also like to thank Doctors Stacy Nerenstone, Helaine Bertsch, and Shahena Master, as well as the incredible staff at both Hartford Hospital and Bel Air Manor for their outstanding compassion and concern while caring for Lynn. They all did a tremendous job of providing her the medical attention she needed while also keeping her comfortable, in addition to providing support to her family and friends as they stood by Lynn during this time. Lynn spent her final days surrounded by loved ones, a true testament to her ceaseless love of life, and infinite love of those around her. She was a beacon of light, hope, and joy in times of both sorrow and celebration. All who knew her were changed for the better by her infectious laugh, beautiful smile, and courageous tenacity. Her memory will live on through her friends and family; for as long as their hearts are beating, so will hers. Her friends and family cherished every moment they spent with her, and they will always love her. She truly embodied living life to the fullest. She “roared.” Lynn’s family will receive friends on Friday, February 3rd from 5-8 p.m. at the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave. in West Hartford, CT. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at The Church of St. Peter Claver, 47 Pleasant St. in West Hartford. Burial will be private. The family welcomes friends to bring their favorite picture(s) to the calling hours and to wear pink to the funeral mass.
