Linda "Sunnee" Hollander

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda “Sunnee” Hollander, 66, of Bloomfield, who died peacefully, Wednesday, October 11, 2023, with her daughter, Samara, by her side. Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, she was the daughter of the late Jan Lezak and Olga (Gwardian) Lezak. She was a graduate of Bulkeley High School in Hartford. Sunnee was the perfect “Horse Mom” to Samara, who had a deep passion for horseback riding. Her devotion to Samara’s riding pursuits was unwavering, travelling to every Horse Show to cheer Samara on. Whether at the horse shows or at home, Sunnee was a constant source of support and encouragement for her daughter. She was recognized for her vivacious spirit and her infectious sense of humor. Her laughter was a beacon of light that brightened the lives of everyone she encountered. She had a unique ability to turn any moment into unforgettable, laughter-filled memories. Aside from family, Sunnee’s greatest passion was cooking. She had an undeniable talent in the kitchen, transforming any recipe into a masterpiece. Her delicious meals were a centerpiece for family gatherings and brought everyone together during many holidays. Sunnee’s warm and caring nature touched the lives of many creating life-long bonds. Sunnee was an adoring grandmother, affectionately called “Nonni” to her two granddaughters. She is survived by her daughter Samara Hollander Ginsburg and her husband Andrew Ginsburg of West Hartford, her two cherished granddaughters: Maya and Ruby, her four sisters: Vera and her husband Gary, Lee and her husband Peter, Lucy and her husband Larry, Renee and her husband Bryan, and her brother, John, several nieces and nephews, and many dear life-long friends. She was predeceased by her sister Josefa. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 18, at 10:30AM with Rabbi Michael Pincus officiating at the Congregation Beth Israel Cemetery, 51 Jackson Street, Avon. Following interment, the family will receive friends at the Hartford Golf Club, 134 Norwood Road, West Hartford immediately following the service. Sunnee’s absence will be deeply felt but the love and laughter she shared with so many will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
