Kevin A. Wholey

Kevin Arthur Wholey, 62, of Bloomfield, CT, passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday October 24, 2023. Son of the late Gerard T. Wholey and late Leah (Oakley) Wholey, he was born in Hartford, CT on November 28, 1960, and was raised in the Town of West Hartford. Kevin attended Saint Thomas the Apostle School and graduated from Northwest Catholic High School, class of 1978. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree, in Marketing, from Fairfield University in 1982. He later began his successful 40+ year career in the insurance field and recently retired as Senior National Account Manager for The Hartford Insurance Company. He was previously employed by the Travelers Insurance Company, Metrahealth and United Healthcare Insurance Companies. His life’s journey brought him to the love of his life, friend and partner, his wife Joanne (Ronca) Wholey. Together, they made their home in Bloomfield, where they took joy in the raising of their many springer spaniels and two rescue horses they had over the past years. They also enjoyed traveling to far off places like Europe and Iceland, or just heading down to New York City to catch a Broadway show and see the sights. Kevin was an avid sports fan and, together, he and Joanne enjoyed attending games and rooting for UConn women’s basketball, especially. In addition to his wife Joanne, Kevin is survived by: his sister, Maryellen (Wholey) Halibozek and her husband Stanley Halibozek of West Hartford, CT; brothers, Brien John Wholey and his wife Julia (Herbst) Wholey of Canton, CT; Timothy Gerard Wholey of Boston, MA; Neal Thomas Wholey of Colchester, CT; and a brother-in-law, William Ronca and his wife Marybeth Ronca of Casco, ME. Kevin also had several nieces and a nephew: Mark Halibozek of East Hampton, CT; Nina Wholey of Canton, CT; Eryn Wholey of Colchester, CT; Alexandra Gunther of Charlestown, MA; Elizabeth Ronca of Newburyport, MA; and Jessica Ronca of Beverly, MA. A celebration of Kevin’s life is being deferred to a future date and an announcement will be made at that time. The family appreciates and thanks all the friends and loved ones who have expressed their sympathy and kind words over Kevin’s passing.
