Kathleen Mae Sibley

SIBLEY. Kathleen Mae Kathleen Mae Sibley, daughter of the late James Francis Farrell and Catherine Mary Sullivan Farrell, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 27, 2009. Born in Springfield, MA on October 4, 1915, Kathleen loved to sing, dance and read poetry at a very young age. She graduated from Classical High School in Springfield, MA and attended American International College. She worked briefly at Tift Brothers in Springfield, MA. She met her true love, Frederic Henry Sibley, and was married in 1938, a marriage that would last until Fred?s death in 2001. She was predeceased by her son Frederic Henry Sibley, Jr. and her sister Evelyn Rogers. She leaves behind her beloved daughters, Gwen Elizabeth Sibley of Bloomfield, CT and Kathleen A. Sibley of Portland, CT and her devoted daughter-in-law Kathleen D. Sibley of West Hartford, CT. Kathleen, also known as Kitty or Kitty Cat, adored her grandchildren and loved preparing Sunday dinners, going to plays and concerts and athletic events with them all. She will be missed by grandsons Robert V. Qua, Jr and wife Aimee Hendrigan of Boston, MA, Patrick Dillon Qua and wife Kathy Johns Qua of West Chester OH, and Jason Sibley Qua and wife Becky Klein of Suffield, CT. She also leaves her very special granddaughters Nicole Mumford of Newington, CT and Stacy Sibley and husband Jay of Los Angeles, CA. Her great grandchildren include Caitlin Qua, Megan Qua and Brian Qua of West Chester, OH; Johnathan Mumford of Newington, CT; Gabriel Qua, Georgia Qua, Hazel Mae Qua of Suffield, CT, and Brayden Sibley Ackerman of Los Angles, CA. A wake will be held at Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave., West Hartford, on Friday May 29 from7-9 pm. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 30 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 872 Farmington Ave., West Hartford at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. In lieu of flowers, you may choose to make a donation in her memory to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer?s Association. We would like to thank the entire staff at Sunrise Assisted Living, West Hartford, CT for providing a very loving and caring home for her over the past 7 years. Kathleen was very proud of her Irish heritage and so we end this tribute to the most honest, happy, kind, patient and loving woman we have had the privilege to know?may the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
