TRACY. George A. George A. Tracy, 91, beloved husband of the late Elizabeth Dineen Tracy, of West Hartford, died Friday, September 19, 2008, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut. Born in Hartford, the son of the late Peter and Jane O'Rourke Tracy, he graduated from Bulkeley High School and Trinity College. While stationed in Boston with the Coast Guard during the WWII, he met and married the love of his life, Elizabeth Betty Dineen. After the war he attended Harvard Business School on the G.I. Bill, graduating with a master's degree. The couple moved to the Harford area in 1948. In 1952, they bought their home in West Hartford and lived there for 56 years. George owned and operated Business Life Designs for many years and was associated with The Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company. He was a very compassionate, outgoing and social, always willing to listen to others. His caring nature was a key to his business success and made him both a great father and friend to many. He was incredibly generous to a host of charities. He was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle church and very dedicated to living his deep faith. George loved golf, the Red Sox and Notre Dame football. He was a longtime member of the Country Club of Farmington. He is survived by his children, Anne Lindert of Middlebury, VT, Barbara Sullivan and her husband Dennis of New Britain, Kathleen Grimaud and her husband Michael of New Hartford, Peter Tracy and his wife Linda of Corona, CA, Susan Tracy of West Hartford, Margaret Tracy of Wethersfield, Stephen Tracy and his wife Patricia of Newington. He leaves 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Mary Scelza of East Hartford, and a brother, William Tracy of OK. He was predeceased by two sisters and a brother, Margaret Morrissey, Theresa Winter and John Tracy. The funeral will be Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave., West Hartford, with a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 872 Farmington Ave., West Hartford.
