Frances Margaret Rosetta

Frances Margaret Rosetta, 99, of West Hartford, died peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2020. The loving daughter of the late Joseph V. and Elizabeth (Mancini) Rosetta, Frances was a graduate of Mount Saint Joseph Academy in West Hartford. She concluded her active working life as Executive Secretary to a Vice President of The Hartford Insurance Company. Frances served as a volunteer Nurses Aid during World War II, and also participated in the rescue efforts for the 1944 Hartford circus fire. She was a charter Member of The Church of Saint Timothy where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Pastoral Care Team. Although not a student herself, Frances was a strong supporter of Saint Joseph College (now University) where her sisters graduated from. She loved art, fashion, sports, nature and music she was an avid reader and always had an interest in continuing self-education. A very reserved and yet empathic lady, she leaves many beloved nieces and nephews who all benefitted from her love: Alessandro, M. Elisabetta and Almerinda de Franciscis; Mark Rosetta and his wife, Katherine; Philip Rosetta and his wife, Gilda; David Rosetta and his wife, Paula; Richard Rosetta and his wife, Sandra; Candace (Rosetta) Mavaro and her husband, Thomas. Frances also leaves many grand nieces and nephews, and good friends Larry Storm and his wife Claudia (Turco) Storm and their families. Thanks to Carole Chapman Fay for the many hours she spent with Fran over the years as her friend, looking after her wellbeing, and keeping distant family members apprised of her status. She was predeceased by her beloved siblings Ann E. Rosetta, Joseph V. Rosetta Jr, and Rosemary Rosetta de Franciscis; her sister in law, Brenda Rosetta and her brother in law, Dr Pietro de Franciscis, and her nephew, Donald Rosetta. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Saint Mary Home for their excellent care and compassion during her residence there. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 16, 2020 in The Church of St. Timothy, 1116 North Main St. West Hartford at 11.00 am. Burial will be in Mt St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
