Enrico Fargnoli

Enrico Fargnoli, 93, of West Hartford, peacefully passed on July 15, 2024. Enrico (Rick) was the youngest of eight children to the late Frederic and Maria Fargnoli. Rick grew up in Hartford in a warm Italian household where there was always room for one more at the dinner table. After serving in the Air Force during the Korean War, Rick returned to Hartford where he would eventually meet the love of his life, Ruth (Bail). They married in 1965, later raising two sons in West Hartford. Rick had a long career at Kaman Aerospace retiring with 40 years of service. Rick was an avid gardener spending many hours tending to his tomatoes, zucchini and other vegetables. He spent hours turning his tomato harvest into sauce which was frozen to use all year long, there was never a jar of store bought sauce in the house. Rick loved his family and nothing brought him more pleasure than entertaining and spending time with family and friends. He was well known for his Pizelle cookies that the family always enjoyed. Rick was handy and could often be found building or fixing something, there was nothing he couldn’t figure out from car repairs to plumbing. He shared his knowledge with his two sons helping them develop these skills as well. Rick’s faith was a central focus of his life, an active member of the St. Gianna (St. Helena) parish in West Hartford. Rick attended mass daily and could frequently be found at home with his rosary deep in prayer. Rick leaves two sons, Gregory (Laura) of Westbrook and Richard (Scott Suty) of West Hartford and two granddaughters Sara and Julia. To Sara and Julia, Rick was “Grandpere” and whenever he saw them you could see his eyes light up, he was so proud of their accomplishments and the beautiful young adults they have become. Rick also leaves many cherished nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special thanks and gratitude to the staff of UConn Health and Autumn Lake of New Britain, your care and compassion was a blessing for dad. A visitation will be held Monday, July 22, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 am at the Church of St. Peter Claver, 47 Pleasant St., West Hartford, followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 11:00 am. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in West Hartford.
