Deborah Lynn Juhasz

Deborah Lynn Duff Juhasz, 56, of West Hartford, died peacefully Monday afternoon in the loving presence of her Mother, Patricia Duff of Tulsa, OK, sister, Shelia Hohmann of Bennington, VT, and brother, Scott “S.K.” Duff of Maplewood, NJ. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Allison Jenice Juhasz, a student at Hall H.S. in West Hartford. She is also survived by other immediate family, including Chuck Miley of Maplewood, NJ; Dana Hendrickson of Bennington, VT; Luke, Jenny and Rheanna Thompson of Brookside, UT; Andy Juhasz of Green Valley, AZ, Jan Canning of Sandown, NH, and Beth Whitmore and sons Joshua, Dylan and Cody of Plaistow, NH. Other extended family include Douris, Devon, and Tiaca Channer of West Hartford; Elaine, Bruce, Sarah and Becky Bank of West Hartford; James Welch of Columbus, OH; Becky Browning of Columbus, OH; and California cousins Pam, Debbi, Mike, Brittni, Sandi and Jenna. She will be greatly missed by all. Her absence will leave a huge void, and her passing will have a profound impact on every member of her family, including dear friends, Dave and Jean, David and Carla, Pastor Tim and Beth, Cristine and Sariah, and countless other friends and neighbors. Debbie never knew a stranger. Her life has touched many people. She was hardly ever referred to simply as a friend, but a “best friend” by all who knew her, from those she grew up with in Tulsa, OK; to those she attended school with at Bethany College in Lindsborg, KS; to those she worked with at American Airlines in Dallas, TX; and then at Chevron in northern CA. She loved the world and when able she traveled as much as possible to appreciate its’ wonders, she read voraciously, volunteered habitually, and supported many causes. The local retail industry will also most certainly mourn her passing! Debbie achieved many things in her life, but she was first and foremost a Mother and friend. She cherished Allie more than any other on this earth. Throughout her life, she taught off and on in various capacities, and even as she became handicapped, she continued to tutor at King Philip Middle School in West Hartford. She was an amazing force in the lives of many – her actions were always ruled by a sense of kindness and compassion. And while she did many things in a life unfairly cut short, she leaves behind a long and remarkable list of loved ones. In the words of her daughter, Allie, she was “a saint” – pretty strong language from a teenager… Donations may be made in her honor to organizations that support the disabled and help to find cures for Rhuematory arthritis. Her favorite flowers were daisies and yellow roses. The funeral will be at 1:00 PM at the Molloy Funeral Home 906 Farmington Ave., West Hartford; preceded by visitation at noon.
