Carolyn Palmer Reynolds

Carolyn (Mema) Palmer Reynolds, 90, of West Hartford, beloved widow of Robert (Pepa) Thompson Reynolds, died peacefully at home on Saturday, July 1, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Hartford on October 14, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Howard E. and Viola Rice Palmer. Carolyn graduated from Hall High School in West Hartford and attended Endicott College. She retired after a career supporting her husband at Robert T. Reynolds & Associates, Inc. Her love for her family, friends, and bridge kept her active up thru her recent illness. She created a family home, full of fun and love, which centered Mema and Pepa’s large extended family. Active in the community, she was a member of the Town & County Club in Hartford, CT where she enjoyed managing bus trips to shows in NYC and weekly bridge get togethers. Carolyn had a knack for embracing her extended “family” with her smile, humor and generosity. The impact Carolyn made on her community is evident in everyone she touched and she lives on in the lessons learned from her shining example of how to embrace and live life to the fullest, with kindness for all. Her home was the center for most family holiday celebrations, birthday pool parties for her grandchildren and their friends, bridge/poker nights for the gals, and so much more. It was at these festivities where Carolyn shared her gifts with the world. No matter how large the gathering, she ensured everyone in attendance felt they were the most special person in the room. It was simply her nature to welcome and host with love, thoughtfulness, and intention. She is survived by and has been supportive of her six children; daughters Debbie Crowne, Karen Kalbacher and her husband John, Susan Reynolds (pre-deceased), Debby Mason and her husband John, Mark Reynolds and his wife Barbara, Thomas Reynolds and his wife Debbie. Her thirteen grandchildren; Jesse and Sam Crowne, Nick Allen and his brothers, Brett and Jeff Kalbacher, Andrew and Benjamin Hale, Jesse and Malcolm Brown and their sister Sophie Mason, Andrew, Zachary, Matthew, and Katie Reynolds. She was thrilled by the addition of six great grandchildren; Maddox and Julian Crowne, Hadley, Marin, Huck, and Wes Brown. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. There will be no calling hours and burial is private. Arrangements are being handled by Molloy Funeral Home, West Hartford.
