Bud Welch III

Edmund T. Welch III (Bud), 57, of East Hampstead, N.H. and E. Falmouth, MA., Sales Manager for Akorn Pharmaceuticals, died September 7, 2012 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family and loved ones. Bud was born April 25, 1955 at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. He spent his childhood and young adulthood in West Hartford, CT where he graduated from Northwest Catholic High School in 1973. He graduated from College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA in 1977. His successful sales career spanned thirty years including positions with Miles Pharmaceuticals and Cutter Medical. Bud was an avid outdoorsman who found his greatest joy boating and fishing around Nantucket Sound and his time spent at Wauwinet. He also enjoyed spending time in the mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire with his family and friends. He leaves behind his parents, Dr. Edmund and Jeannine Welch of West Hartford, CT., his sons Edmund T. Welch IV (Ted) and wife Molly, Craig Lewis Welch and fiancé Whitney Upton of Goffstown, N.H., Scott Thomas Welch of Rumford, RI., granddaughters Ava and Genevieve of Duxbury, MA. He also leaves behind his sisters, Jan and husband Carl Norwood, Leslie and husband Walter Rogers, Louise and husband Michael Daves and Kelly Welch and partner Steven Anderson. He also leaves his much loved nieces and nephews, Alison and husband Seamus Hughes, Bradley Norwood, William, Jeannine, Elizabeth and Megan Rogers and Elias Rahman. He also leaves behind many cousins and life- long friends including, Marc Staelen of N. Smithfield, R.I., David Sullivan of S. Glastonbury, CT and Mark Dunn of Cohasset, MA. The family would like to thank the nursing and medical staff of Massachusetts General Hospital for their compassionate care during Bud's hospitalization. Calling hours will be held Tuesday September 11th from 4-7 p.m. at Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave., West Hartford, CT. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday September 12th at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter Claver on Pleasant St. West Hartford, CT. Interment will be private in Bellingham, MA.
