Ahsan Taeed

Ahsan Taeed, of Hartford, CT, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to countless people, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the age of 86. He was born on December 19, 1930 in Tehran, Iran. Ahsan is survived by his sisters, Mahin, Shoghieh and Ahdieh, daughters, Shoreh Rassekh and her husband, Farhad, Taraneh Familie, and his son Roozbeh Taeed and his wife Laura, five grandchildren, Norah, Monah, Azin, Omeed, and Leilah, and eight great grandchildren, Jaelyn, Kendell, Hannah, Raya, Mina, Thea, Neekon and Omari. Ahsan received his Bachelors degree in Iran and His Masters degree in petroleum engineering from The University of Texas in Austin. He worked as a petroleum engineer in Iran for many years and moved to The United States in 1981, where he worked for the Palm Beach County Health Department in Florida. He retired in June 1997. Ahsan enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and listening to music. He was a member of the Bahá'í Faith, and truly believed in the oneness of humankind and service to humanity. At a young age Ahsan with his wife Homa and two daughters moved to Brazil and Italy to serve as Baha’i pioneers. Ahsan loved travelling. He travelled to England, France and Brazil, and lived in India for some time before settling in West Hartford, CT in the year 2000. He spent the last four years of his life happily with friends at The Retreat Assisted Living facility in Hartford. As a Baha’i he believed in and was greatly interested in the harmony of science and religion He published a book titled, Human: The Special, The Noble, The Progressive. Ahsan was loved beyond measure by his family and friends and will be missed greatly. He will be remembered forever by the many lives he touched with his constant jokes, simple graciousness, generosity, and loving heart. As difficult as losing him has been for his family and friends, he has always wished that his loved ones live each day to the fullest and with utmost joy.
